RULES & INSTRUCTIONS

The De Ronde van Grampian Race
  • Package pickup is between 7:00 and 8:30AM at Upland Hills Farm, 481 Lake George Rd, Oxford, MI, 48370
  • There will be one aid station located on Oakwood & Hosner. This will be at about mile 18 for the 25-mile course, and mile 33 for the 50-mile course.
  • There will be no aid station for the 12-mile course.
  • The course is open to auto traffic, and may include the occasional horseback rider. Obey all traffic laws, instructions from sheriff marshals and volunteer course marshals at intersections. Race participants need to stop at all stop signs.
  • We reserve the right to delay or cancel the De Ronde van Grampian in the event of inclement weather and or unsafe race/road conditions. The definition of inclement weather and unsafe race/road conditions are at the sole discretion of the race director.
  • No refunds or deferred registrations, although entries can be transferred within BikeReg by selecting "TRANSFER REGISTRATION".
  • ANSI/SNELL approved bicycle helmets are required.

The Courses

12-Mile Course

The DRvG 12-mile course includes 742ft. of climbing and starts/ends inside Upland Hills Farm. The route features 100% gravel roads dragging you up the Barr Road climb, ascending through the iconic Grampian area and up through the Drahner Road climb which features the highest point in Oakland County at 1,250ft.

The course continues north along some of the most scenic gravel roads in the area before bringing you back to absolute chaos by dumping you into Bald Mt. North Recreation single track for some old-school riding before finally bringing you into the Upland Hills private land access road, which will be the deciding factor with its rough two-track and sandy/hilly terrain.

This race uses Upland Hills private land only accessible during the event on August 3, 2024 from 9AM to 3PM - NO EXCEPTIONS.  You cannot pre-ride the Upland hills section of the course. Violators will be reported to the local authorities for trespassing.

25-Mile Course

The DRvG 25-mile course includes 1,585ft. of climbing and starts/ends inside Upland Hills Farm. The route features 100% gravel roads dragging you up the Barr Road climb ascending through the iconic Grampian area and up through the Drahner Road climb which features the highest point in Oakland County at 1,250ft.

The course continues north along some of the most scenic gravel roads in the area before bringing you back to absolute chaos by dumping you into Bald Mt. North Recreation single track for some old-school riding before finally bringing you into the Upland Hills private land access road, which will be the deciding factor with its rough two-track and sandy/hilly terrain.

50-Mile Course

The DRvG 50-mile course includes 2,942ft. of climbing and starts/ends inside Upland Hills Farm. The route features 100% gravel roads dragging you up the Barr Road climb, ascending through the iconic Grampian area and up through the Drahner Road climb which features the highest point in Oakland County at 1,250ft.

The course begins on the same 25-mile but then splits to roads featuring rollers that seem to never end!

Riders will enjoy the views along Lake George as they wind up and down the gravel roads through Oakland and Lapeer counties before reconnecting with the 25-mile course and finally bringing you into the Upland Hills private land access road which will be the deciding factor with its rough two-track and sandy/hilly terrain.
